inline skimmer?

is there a skimmer that can run inline with a canister filter?

I've not seen one, so I sort of assume not, but figured I could see if anyone else has seen something like that.

That would be an awesome idea, hopefully suck an item exsist! When I ran a canister filter, I ran an in-line heater on the supply tube of the canister, and a UV sterilizer on the return tube. It really uncluttered my tank. If you could run a skimmer in-line with a canister, it would almost negate the need for a sump.

It depends where you put the skimmer in relation to the tank and canister. Due to water pressure you can't really keep the skimmer inline below the water level of the tank as its designed to vent bubbles and gas out of the top into the cup so keeping it below the water level will just overflow it everytime. If you can keep the skimmer above water though it may be possible with a recirculating skimmer to do this.

What Jin said. It's imposible to have an inline skimmer since you need to vent air out.
