I have about 100 lbs of cured LR showing up tonight and if there's one thing I've learned from reefing it's to be overly cautious. There's no reason to believe there's anything bad in the rock, but could it be pre-treated with interceptor? I'll be using 40 lbs or so in my own SPS laden tank and want to avoid any potential issues with AEF's. I'll be running it for a few days in a Brute trashcan with PH and heaters in case it wants to go through a mini-cycle, could I just put the interceptor in too?

If so, how much??? I have a 5.25ml tablet (11-25lb dog) and about 1/2 of another tablet left over from dipping SPS frags.

I don't think you need it if there are no SPS on the rock. Redbugs only eat SPS.

Interceptor doesn't kill AEFW if that's what you were asking. RB are no big deal IMO and easily treated...

Unfortunately I had a SERIOUS brain-lapse and did something uber stupid. I had the 1/2 tablet which I had previously crushed wrapped in tin foil and laid it in a HOB filter I was planning to run on the Brute to pull sediment out of the water. I didn't remember to remove it before I plugged the filter in:doh: Oh well.....1/2 a tab shouldn't hurt (not that it even matters now). I have a PWC coming up so I'll do a water swap on the Brute.

And I meant redbugs....not sure where I got AEFW's from....LOL
