It gets a bit technical but it's worth a read. LEP is gaining market share in the aquarium industry.

I have heard about LEP's and I think it is ridiculously expensive. I guess LED's were ridiculous when they first came out as well.

I think its interesting how the spectrum of the LEP's produce more colorful pigments. I like growth rates but I like better color much more!
 
Very interesting read if I hadn't just dropped $300 on LEDs I probably would read further into LEPs
 
This is the only one I could find with an actual price. STARTING at $3350!
