As much as I like the price of other phones / devices, I still find the iphone to be the best bang for the buck as far as features coupled with usability- especially with stuff like this for it)!

The biggest issue I see would be storing the probe in between uses... Other wise, COOL!

When they make a multipurpose colorimeter adapter for the iPhone, then they will have my attention.

Of course not, however the added features of stored tracking and possible future probe options make this something to follow..... atleast for me.

For the same price you could have an apex lite with a ph probe and it will log 1 years worth of data lol

Of course you need an iPhone. It's the best way to manage your APEX!!

(and Thanh, Neptune has a probe for monitoring SG. Not cheap though.)

Nothing in this hobby is ever cheap.

If you drive a chevy with active OnStar there is. LOL

Yes perhaps. with a singl;e point probe to measure all. Right?

Meh.

Exactly. And have it control</em> things too.

I guess I just dont see the feasibility of this. As mentioned, the probes would need to essentially stay in the aquarium water, and would just attach to the iphone when there, as I cant see a way to manage a mobile probe, really effectively. In which case, we already have such technology (as stated) with controller and free apps.

True, but a refractometer is a hell of a lot cheaper than $200 for a probe & module.

Besides, how much does your SG swing??? I check my salinity like twice a year maybe.
