Is anybody here running an Elos NS1000 skimmer?

I'm seriously fed up with trying to get this skimmer to work all the time. When I think that I get it dialed in, it just stops pulling one day. I adjust it a little more and it floods the skimmer cup. Any ideas how to dial this thing in?

Try PM'ing or emailing Chris @ Einstein Aquatics. He uses all of their skimmers and such and might be able to give some assistance. Also try the Elos forum on RC; Jesse is usually good about answering questions.

I know how you feel; I've got a KZ skimmer that I'm tired of the Aquabee pump. you have to pray after a power outage that the pump will restart.

The aquabees have a flap inside that pump that if not able to move back and forth freely causes issues when the pump turns on. Try soaking the pump in a 1 to 10 muriatic acid solution and you should see significant improvement. If moving as it should you can hear the flap "clanking" when you shake it.

I recently gave it a vinegar bath before putting it back in use, so its operating for the moment. I never knew that about the pump, I'll have to look for that the next time I take it off. Thanks!

I think it's my bio load. It's so small it's simply not allowing the skimmer to work.
