It's a coralife light fixture, has 2 f14-t5-bp bulbs in it. The ballast on it is shot. If I whack the ballast really hard it lights up, and then it dies again in a while. Have it over a 10g tank, neat little light. Was wondering if anyone knows if the ballast is replaceable? Or ideas on how much a new fixture like this would run me.

That the 24"? I had a bunch of those and just blew out the last few for cheap.

I don't see replacement ballasts available, but the fixture itself isn't that much.

22.5" long and about 3" wide. I think I'll rip it apart and see if I can find a ballast or order a new one I guess.

The only trick to replacing a ballast is finding one that fits in the fixture.

Try ballastwise.com I've bought from in the past with good results.

yes.. almost all ballasts are replaceable...

you can find replacements on Ebay usually.. (take yours out first, then search model # or power.. (i.e. 2X54w)

Took a bit work getting the ballast out of the fixture. Somehow I don't think it's going to be cost effective but who knows. Will check out those two sites, thanks.

I purchased two ballasts on ebay that were direct replacements for my fixture (sunlight supply ballasts)

it cost $50
