is this a macro algea

its in my display tank and i dont want it there its tuff to get off with my fingers and it has been there forever it hasnt grown or disappered is it a macro

It looks like the red algea (what he calls it) I have some in my fuge and it is a very slow grower. I have heard that tangs like to eat it so I guess if you have tangs and it is still there this may be wrong/
 
i dont think so because it says that it beaks of real easy and i had a really hard time taking this off plus it doesnt look the same here i got some out and took a close up

Yes its a macro algae as opposed to being a micro algae.

No idea what kind of macro though. Could be Anotrichium barbatum?
