ok, I think I may undergo the process to connect and ultimately control some Jebao wp40s with my APEX controller.

here are 2 links that explain the process (minus the programming)...

imo the first link appears easier... or maybe it just has more pictures haha

First question... with the APEX box above will I only be able to control 2 pumps?

I am considering doing the same with two 25's and two 40's as well. I will def. be following this thread. Do you have a full Apex, Lite, or Jr? I am under the impression that you shouldn't need the VDM with the Full Apex, as long as one or two of your VS ports are free.

Did any of you guys end up doing this? Just got an apex so I'm looking to do it too. Wouldn't mind if somebody was willing to make me one either. lol

I think digital aquatics just came out with a module (dc1?) That makes it a little easier. Supposed to be compatible with the apex and reef angel.

I can't find any info about using it with the Apex, but it looks pretty easy if the cat5e cable is wired the same way as the apex. Even if not I guess you could rewire a cat5 cable as long as you get the ends plugged into the right parts. lol And at $56 it definitely looks like a good idea.

The pre-made reef angel cable is easy to use. I wouldn't DIY a cable unless you really need another project.

I'm not terribly happy with the modes available on the APEX for driving the Jeabo pump. You can't really do random flow. It should be so easy for them to add some basic modes for the 0-10v control, but they haven't. I ended up using the weather control.

I went that route and wired two of the harnesses via reef angel cables and for the other two, I ultimately found it was just easier ordering the dimming cable through neptune. It was $15 for each cable. I absolutely loved the programming that it allowed me to run the Jaebo WP 25s. I sold my cables with my WPs and wished I had kept them to use with my replacement RW8s.
