Not sure how yet but I have kalk powder in my sump. Oh has gone from 8.1 to 8.4 and has stabilized. Should I do a water change or just let it fall naturally. It will drop .20ph during the night.

I don’t know, the kalk reactor came on, it was definitely dosing the saturated kalk not slurry. I saw a cloud and looked at the reactor and there was no disturbed kalk at the bottom. It’s a mystery.

It's very likely precipitated calcium carbonate and not actual kalk powder. Most likely the area where you are dosing had a localized pH spike during the dosing which caused a precipitation event. I'd check into the flow rate of your sump as well as the dosing rate of your pump as it is easy to add kalk too fast and cause this to happen.

You nailed it @timeconsumer. My dosing line got pushed in front of my mesh filter. This caused a build up of precipitant that got released all at once directly into my return chamber. I still have a lot of pissed off coral but at least for a day I had perfect a 8.4pH.
