Kalk reactor cleaning

Is there a period where the mall in the bottom of the reactor is no longer soluble? I'm just wondering because I have a large amount of slurry in the bottom and pH is kinda meh. I added some zip ties to the stirrer rod today to help with agitation. Should I just dump out the reactor and refill it with fresh?

The top just sits on the cylinder, not air tight. I think it's the k2 reactor.

I think the only way to confirm it fully saturated is through a conductivity probe, explained here by Randy: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-05/rhf/feature/index.htm

I just recently added a kalk reactor and I plan to just clean it out monthly. I am only dosing 400ml a day though.

To answer the initial question. Yes, not all of the Kalk will dissolve and it will accumulate at the bottom and it needs to be cleaned out occasionally.

I can't wait until I can start using Kalk. I just have several other hurdles to jump before I get coral. Hopefully before the end of August I'll be mounting some frags.
