That would not be a good idea! Most people hook it up to an auto top off, to keep up with evaporation. Maybe your thinking of a calcium reactor which is not the same thing.

no i am going to make a cal reactor. i was thinking of makeing the kalk reactor along the same concept of the cal reactor, have the water circulating through thte reactor. and then at night have it top off the system
