I purchased a Kenya Coral from Warehouse Aquarium yesterday(SAT) and it still has not opened up fully. Just wondering if this is normal for one to do this . I have never had a issue like this b4. All parameters are in check and I did a a 1 hour aclamation drip b4 putting it in the tank. Any input would be great.
Thanks

Yeah, they're pretty tempermental about being moved. It will adjust. They like lots of flow.

It will bounce back, in a big way. I think i could plant some of the Kenya tree in my tank next to a rose bush in my front yard and it would grow. It's the one coral that survived all my newbie mistakes.

If it's still cranky after a day or two, check your alkalinity. They are pretty hardy corals indeed and will grow like weeds... but if they are looking kind of "meh"... it could be low alkalinity.

Cool I'll have to do that. It still looks all closed up today. I even noticed that it appears to have some diatoms (algae) begining to grow on it. Sure thats not good. How can you tell if the coral is dead? Not feeling good about this.
All other critters and such are doing very well though.

They also don't like heat. Make sure your temp doesn't exceed 80 degrees. They do like a lot of water movement and don't require a great deal of light. I've had some wilt and lose limbs only to survive after a few days of good water changes.
