I bought a used 1502 a while back and am just now setting it up. I got some pretty decent directions off of RC but one thing eludes me... The 1502 comes with this "cup" it is clear with a black lid and has 2 "nubs" on it for water line (I think). I read that this is supposed to be on the out going effluent but for the life of me I cant figure out how, or why, it is supposed to be used.

Anyone out there have one of these and know how or why this thing is supposed to be used???

Thanks,

Shane

p.s. what should my effluent KH be?

Second "chamber" to hold extra aragonite and bring the pH back up!?

Really??? You would think that it would say that in the instructions... also this cup is small and would maybe hold 1/2 cup of water....

Actually I think that is a build in bubble counter. Sounds way to small to be a second chamber.

Maybe this will help.

That's a very cool looking Ca reactor...
