I am thinking that for calibration purposes, to go with our refractometers, a good precisely calibrated lab thermometer is a good idea. Most are not designed for full immersion, but are safe for caustic liquids.

Who would be interested in ordering a bunch so that we can save on shipping?

I thouhgt about trying out some of these:

Hey maybe we can get a Group buy one these? I will call next week. Way to go Sammy!

Sammy, those would be great.

I forgot to post the proposed cost. There are standard lab grade thermometers available for just under $5 each. For example: http://www.homebrewit.com/aisle/p/5456">http://www.homebrewit.com/aisle/p/5456</a>

If Sammy can get them better or cheaper, that's good too. Just floating the idea.

I'm interested. Let me know what you guys find out.

Those Tropic Marin thermometers are about $25 each. I was planning to order about 10 of them and see if they are all within 0.2 degrees like they claim?

$20 is a big difference between the Tropic Marin and the lab thermometer. I wonder how accurate the cheap ones are.

I've got a rectal one laying around, but none of the fish will volunteer.:D
