Large ampihpod problem

Got a lot of larger amphipods that like to snack on my smaller zoas. Ive been doing "spot" freshwater dips and have a yellow coris wrasse and these guys are still eating baby zoas. What else can i do?

i kinda have that problem too....they swarm any new colonies i bring in...i havent actually seen them eat a zoa yet but i think teir movement on the smaller zoas are irritating enough to keep them closed...i have a colony of small tubb blues that ive only seen open once since i got them and that was yesterday (have had for 2 months)....im actually thinking of buying one of those small hang on tank adaptation kits and sticking them in there until they are larger...my larger zoa colonies dont seem to be bothered by them

Well I had a baby I saw last nugt an this morning it was gone and I saw a couple on it.

A Melenarus Wrasse has been 100% effective destroying every pod in my tank. Like it or not.

I have both and they constantly work the tank for live stuff.

Mandarin if the tank is big enough to sustain enough pods after it cleans out the tank...

are you sure its amphipods and not a nudibranch?

The amphipods are eating on decaying matter. Is this typically happening on newly introduced zoas? Keep in mind that corals adapt to the system the were grown out in. When introduced to a new system system parameters such as dkh, ph, temps ect maybe different and coral may take time to adjust. Just my opinion and I hope it helps.
