Would something like this work to help me add some shimmer to my T5s?

What about those ones made by Current? The PowerBrite ones...anyone use those? They are around $115 for a similar set up.

I have 4 of the blue units (16 LED's) set up on my 150 of the Powerbrite Current LED's. I have been very happy so far. They have stood up to the salt very well. I have had on my tank for 1.5 years. Probably could have gotten away with 3 units. don't forget to get the powered unit and then the add ons. The Powered unit is 10-15 dollar more. You are suppose to have one for evey four units.

I got them from Creation. i think he still has a few units, just not the powered units in stock.

How bright are they? Are they focused enough to give a shimmer effect? I would need the white ones, obviously. I wonder if Creation ever stocks those...

Okay, I know this is way at the other end of the price spectrum, but I just hooked up two of these blue LED strips in my DT for moonlighting and they look great. If anything they are too bright at 12v, but I’m able to dim them because I’m using a variable power supply (3,6,9,12v adaptor). The ricordea, monti, bubble and star polyps fluoresce like the back section of Spencer Gifts. They are encapsulated in a ¼ “strip of flexible clear epoxy so I’m expecting them to hold up well.
