LED Moonlights/Accent lighting

After checking out Justin's setup last weekend, I had to try some led's for myself. These come in 38" waterproof strips with 96 leds per strip. I have two strips, one on each tank, wired together with a 24v powersource. Im not sure the type of led, but they are just powerful enough to add a brighter blue shade along with my more purple vho actinics. Then after the vho's shut down, Im able to get the full led effect and the colors are crazy. My only concern is that they may be a little too bright for all night moonlights.

I'm thinking about adding something like this to my T5 set up. Question, when you just have the actinics and LEDs on, can you see any shimmer from the LEDS? Does you fixture have a 120 or 90 degree beam?

Not so much on the shimmer,nothing like when the MH's are on. I mainly added for the lights out glow effect. I want to say 80 degree beam, I think.

Hmmm...I'll have to look a little harder at these. I recently bought one of those Current PowerBrite strips and I can get some shimmer through the T5s, but only if I hold them at a slight angle. I bought the kind with blue and white, but the real shimmer comes from the white ones, so maybe that's why yours doesn't show up much.

It's hard to tell from the website, when you buy a strip, do you need to also buy a power supply? Can you link two of the strips together?
