Led or T5

So I got Brandon's 7 bulb t5 unit and put it over the LPS tank, which once the LPS start to get a little bigger will likely become my sps grow out tank. So let me know which looks better to you guys

Yea the euphys look better under the leds. I've got to pick up some super actinics but am working on a couple led strips. I just don't have the growth with the leds. But it will eventually be sps grow out tank which looks better imo with t5.

Another thing I've noticed after running leds for 2+ years that reds get washed out and look orange, which I can't stand.

That's what led me to add T5s to my LED setup. My acans and blastos became very dull looking. After 2 mounts with the combo they are looking much better even when the t5s are off.

i had the same issue with my 1st gen radion. i have a beautiful red acan echinata and after a few months under the 1g it turned orange. when i upgraded to the pro g3 it went back to being a bright red after a couple months. not sure what they did to make it better but i think it could have been a lack of uv in the first gen.

What T5 bulb combo are you running? Doesn't look like a good one truthfully :/

Hmm, my red acans have always been red under LED's. Wonder if it's the type of acan?

What type of camra do you use to take photos under LEDs? Those macro shots under both LEDs and T5s look great.

Id stick with the LED's based on those pics, bulb costs, and running costs.

You can get the same if not better coloring with the T5's, but it takes the right combo of bulbs which could take time to figure out.

Personally I like T5's for supplemental lighting. If you want SPS Id go with tons of LED's or just go halide(unless your tank is under 90g in which case stick with LED)

The led pics were taken with cannon t3 and the t5 were taken with my galaxy s5 cell phone
