Ok so I have a 60 g hex. Tank is 24inch deep and 22in from one panel to its opposite. It currently has a 24" Current Sundial t5ho sitting on top of it. I want to go led, but would like a pendant type light. I was thinking a par38 bulb, but is just one enough for my tank? What would you buy/make if it was your tank. I just want something that looks clean but still gives me good coverage and PAR.

I would think that you'd need 2 or 3 of them...

are you planning on DIY'ing it?

If I can find a prefab fixture, then great, but am open to DIY. What if it was a few 10wt chips like 2 royal blues, 1 blue, and 2 cool whites. and I made my own pendant style fixture... Since my tank is not wide and so deep I dont need as much spread. I just thought the bulb would be easy and my tanks footprint is so hard to work with.

I have seen a couple tanks with them.. the owners seem to like them, but I've never used them my self..

do a little more research.. see if you can find a used one to experiment with
