Yea I was mostly just sharing a pretty cool tank. IMO I actually run the cheap MM LEDs on my tanks and have had decent growth and coouldn't ask for better color. There are only a few corals that I've witnessed that dont grow well in my tank under LEDs. I've been completey happy with them. I've had them near 2 years now.

At first, I was calculating the LED cost, but, that's a 1 time investment. I was kind of upset at paying for the LEDs for my 120g DT. I had the money, just had to talk myself into spending it.

Man, imagine the water change cost alone on those tanks!!! With 1350 gallons, and 40% water changes monthly (2*20% bi-weekly) he is changing out 540 gallons per month. At about $50 per box of 180 gallon of Instant Ocean, he is in for at least $150 on Instant Ocean alone (if my math is right???) not counting his sump. And that is only on his DT. That doesn't account for the QT's. He's probably around $350-$500 on Instant Ocean total per month. That is more than I pay for the houses in the hood that I rent out. LOL!!!

They are beautiful tanks, though, and it looks like he is doing things right!!!

This guy has entirely too much money. That usually means not the nicest of people either. Just saying.

I have leds also. They are kinda like the mm leds. I got from nemo. I love the color and the growth. They where $220 each. I run 2 on my 75 covers well. I agree with the statement above. The radions and other high end leds are way far off on the price. My tank has almost the same colors as any tank ive seen with high end leds.i would never pay (or could afford to) for a $800 led

Jelly Bean much? :lol2:

Beautiful tank but I'm too cheap to buy LEDs.I run MH and T5 mostly LPS but I have noticed that these corals look smaller at the stores and once in my tank they plump.
If I ever come across a MH/LED combo fixture, I am going to break the piggy bank and pawn everything I have lol.

If that was my tank, I'd be trying to figure out why a lot of the corals look brown and faded and how I was planning to fix it. Softies and LPS look fine though... A lot of his acros look like they have seen more colorful days.
