OK, first time with a light issue and before i start messing with everything wanted to know what I should do. I have an odyssea 4/54 light. Came in and only 2 bulbs were working moved the bulbs around and it's not the bulb. I guess it's the ballast. has anyone changed this out and what kind of hassle and where should I go for the parts.

Any and all advise on this is welcomed.

Thanks,

If it is new then it should get fixed under warranty. If the unit is used then why not contact Odyssea for the parts?

Wow, bummer. Does it say "as is" or what on the seller's ad? Seems like they would know it doesn't work and would say so.

Those lights are terrible new so if it was used you don't have a chance. They are made and shipped directly from China or used to be. I bought a new one a few years back and it worked for literally 5 minutes and then went out. Never was able to fix it. I have seen several posts where folks believe these to be fire hazards.

Ok now that i am all cheered up. lol. Any suggestions on a new fixture that isn't going to kill me. Don't really want MH becuase of heat.

Let me know what you like.

Thanks,

On second thought, If I can use the current fixture. What do i need to retro fit it? and where would be the best place to start? i am headed out of town for a week and need to get this fixed ASAP.

Help.

Thanks,

What length fixture is it? If you need 48" lights I have some T5s I'd make you a deal on.

Aquatraders.com

Check them out for Odyssea Ballasts. Everything else they sell is Odyssea, if theyu don't have it, then you're outta luck

Thanks, did not see anything but sent them a message. looks like I donated $100.

One of the "universal ballasts" </em>wont fly?
