Hey guys how would a 18" current 18 wat 2 bulb do on a 14 gal cube? Bulbs are brand new and I can get entire system for $40 will the light over hang to much?

Too much is a matter of opinion. I probably wouldn't like it personally. But for the price I might get used to it.

Yeah, what he said (and more :)

Not sure of your dimensions. I have a 12g bio cube. The 18 would be too wide for it. It currently has a 24 watt PC.

Just picked up two 12watt power brites (LED's) from the Aviarium a few minutes ago. I'm ging to remove the PC (and the two fans) tonight and replace it with the LED's.

Tank belongs to she who must be obey'ed. When Mama is happy, everybody is happy :yay:

Merry Christmas

If I lived in atlanta I would but I live to far for the drive, only reason I was doing this is because its a local sale, I was not really going to do anything with my cube for a while but It was just a whim

Whims are fun!!!!!!!!!!

Until you marry it..........

I know of which I speak!

Lol I don't think I will mind thr over hang if anything it will put light through side of tank. But I may hang it over it. Would 18 wat 2 bulb t5 be enough light for the 14 gal.

No, go to nanotuners.com and they have the 5 cree LED bulb fixture for 88 bucks. Its the EvilPar38 12k or 20k (but I think the 20k's are out of stock).

It depends on what your cup of tea is and what your trying to achieve. You have several options.

You could get a hanging 150w pendant MH light, you could do a retrofit diy cree xre led setup. You could even go with about 2 or 3 ecoxotic led modules.

It really comes down to what kind of corals your wanting to keep.

Definitely. I need to give up on my PCs, and that http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php?cPath=78&products_id=699">Evil PAR38</a> is looking to be the ticket out. Great price for some amazing lighting. Christmas present to my corals! :D

Thanks again for the info...
