I am currently running a 48" metal halide fixture with 2 250W Hqi bulbs, 4 65W compact fluorescent bulbs, and 6 bluemoon led bulbs. It has "heavy duty cooling fans" built into the system. I have a 90 gallon tank that has 80 lbs of rock, 80 lbs of sand, and some water that's being pushed around by a couple of power heads. I am trying to get my hands on a protein skimmer so that I can complete the sump system and get the thing moving, but I was curious about what type of timing to put the lighting system on. I have a surge with a digital timer built in, I'm just not sure how long to run each of the bulbs for a reef setup (eventually). For which bulbs should the fans run? All of them? Thank you!!
