I have an 8x54 T5HO light on my tank and I really really like it, it gives great lighting, the only thing is, i see tanks with T5s and they give off more of a blue color overall and mine gives off pretty much a complete white color, the only way to get the blue color i like is to turn off the white bulbs, is there any combination that will give off the color im looking for, or am i just being to picky?

that's what i was thinking. I honestly have no idea what kind of bulbs i have now.. is there any way to check?

the bulbs are..

54w Actinic+ by gieselmann
54w Actinic+ by gieselmann
54w by Wavepoint.. all it says
54w Aquablue+ by gieselmann
54w by wavepoint again
10,000k Coralife 54w
54w wavepoint..
then one 54w current actinic bulbs

With this many actinics i would think it would be more blue, but it still looks so white :(

How many white bulbs do u have vs blue or purple

Can the fixture fire with one of the bulbs pulled? How old are the bulbs?

Is it possible the blues are old and not putting out as much light as the whites. I would think 6 blues wold be plenty but scratching head St this point

i mean the actinics are kinda dim, i think they are fairly new overall

Edit: edit, was wrong, 2 whites, 4 actinics and 2 ones that are really blue.

Edit: nevermind, i have no idea what these bulbs mean >:C

I would say try swapping one of your whites out for another blue and see how that works for you

actinics look cool...when its just actinic and some blues. what they dont do is anything when all the whites are on. they wash out easily. they also dont give out much par at all. i use a few 10k (white). a few purple, a few super blues and a couple actinics for when just the blues are on. that setup is geared mostly toward growth with the actinics just making everything glow in the evening

My plan is front to back

S blue+
S blue+
S blue+
S Purple+
S blue+
S purple+
6500k or 10,000k
s blue+

This sound okay?
