Lionfish's color

I bought a lionfish about 3 month ago. When I got him he was very dark in color. But in the last month or so he seems to be really white. What do you think is happening?

As with what Barbara said, their colors can vary greatly from one lion to the next. Lions are my fav SW fish and I always fed diff meaty foods, but freeze dried krill seemed to keep their color up very well. Looking at your sig im guessing its the volitan in the 75g correct?? What are your params and how big is the lion?? Also keep an eye on the puffer and make sure hes not nipping or stressing the lion. A lions long fins can look pretty tasty to puffers, I learned this the hard way!!

I was feeding him silver soaked in garlic.
