What should the proper steps be for live rock that has spent a few weeks in low salinity water? Putting it back in proper salinity will it cause a ammonia spike? I have read it won't but I still wasn't sure after reading that bit of info. All info would be appreciated.

A spike would be caused by die-off on the rock. If it is too hyposaline, you might have that, though it would've happened in the hypo water, not after moving back to normal. How low are we talking here?

So just throwing in back in to normal salinity wont have any negative impact?
