ok so ive been gathering equipment and researching for a few months now and im getting close to setting everything up. i have a 90gal tank. my question is about the live sand. not so much depth as ive read alot about that topic but more as to the type? ive seen ocean direct, pink figii, etc.. is there a preferred type or brand that i should grab? not worried too much about the price here.

There is much discussion about sand beds. I personally prefer the look of a deep sand bed. Brand should not matter so much as size. I would suggest a mixture of sized. It also depends on what you want to keep in your setup. Caribsea is one of the few brands I see at my LFS. Also, when it comes to pink fiji or other "types" it is more for aesthetics. It all depends on what you want to see. Some people have Hawaiian black, some have fiji pink, I currently am attempting a full on DIY system with a very dark orange/brown sand and home made live rock. Super cheap, but again, experimental.

I would go with CaribSea Fiji Pink! I love it! It's not too fine and it's not too thick!
