Long threads from rock to rock

I have found long bi-colored thread stuff over the sand bed and from rock to rock. It looks like a spider web with out the cross threads. Any one know (I know you know) what it is and should I be doing something to get rid of it? Bubba:yuk:

Could be several things. Pics would really help here. Does it originate from a spiral brown tube?

No tubes involved. The hair comes directly up from the sand about 15 strands from each eruption. Looks like it is green-brown but when you look really close it has two colors. I know that I can e-mail you a pic, if my battery is good but I don't have much luck with posting pictures. Bubba
