Looking for advice. Upgrading to a sump

When I started my first reef tank just over a year ago, I started with a canister filter. Now I am wanting to upgrade to a sump. My issue is that I can't fit a 24 inch 20 g tall into the cabinet door.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I remove the center brace long enough to put the sump in? I would assume no, but figured I would check.

Is it screwed in or nailed? You might be able to remove it but I would move the take off of it first.

you can remove once you get sump done I would put back

Could also check the end skins it may be possible to remove the skin and slide it in.
