Anyone is middle Georgia have any excess black acrylic lying around? I want to try my hands at building an overflow. Let me know what you have. If you seen any being sold at a local establishment, let me know. You can post here or PM me please. Thanks in advance.

You can buy really nice ones on eBay for $30-40 if you give up on doing it yourself. I've bought a couple and love them

Looked at their website and they have too much stuff. Can you direct me to the proper sheets of black acrylic used for overflow boxes? I need to build a couple overflows for some 20-40 gallon tanks. I'm also considering building a overflow coast to coast box for a 72 inch long 125 gallon tank. I'm concerned of leeching down the road and I want something that will not warp. Thanks for your assistance.

Too many options at calsakplastics! I'm thinking about building a coast to coast overflow box for a 125 gallon 72 inch tank. I want a thicker black acrylic type plastic. Can someone point me to the correct place at calsakplastics? I want something that will not leech something in the water down the road. Also, I don't want to have to worry about warping. Thanks for your help. I should have called this thread "How to select the proper material to build a coast to coast overflow box for a 72 inch tank for dummies?"

What you want is black "Cell Cast Acrylic":

The thickness will depend on the design of each overflow, but you will need a minimum of 1/4".

If you want to purchase the acrylic pre-cut, another option is to purchase it from Professional Plastics:
