I'm trying to get really creative with my rock formations, but I seem to still be in the elementary side of things. I really want a beautiful rock formation that I'll always be proud of. Right now I kind of have all the rocks just piled against the glass, but I really think I could do better. Is there a feung shui for rock formations? I'm really looking to go for a nice clean modern look before i pile on a crazy amount of corals. And is there a way for me to keep the rocks in place?

After you put the rods in or ties on, cement the rocks togther with Thorlite cement from Marco Rocks. You can progressively build up very cool structures like this. Google "bonsai reef" for examples.

Here's mine using acrylic rods heated and bent and epoxy.
Not as nice as some, but I'm pretty happy with it.

+1. Definitely makes me lean toward taking the time to drill and glue. Figure the easiest time is at the beginning!

that's amazing! i WISH i had a tank to accomodate that!!
now i know that it's possible, i might just do something similar when i start my 85 build
