I've had my cleaner shrimp since day one and he was already massive when I got him. Body alone probably 3" or more. Went to the tank today to find a fresh molt and his actual body in 2 pieces. Or course all the fish were picking by this time. Was it possibly just his time or did something likely catch him during the molt? I know I have a small unknown crab about the size of a dime (stays in one specific rock on my sandbead) but the only other crabs I keep are 1/4" dwarf hermits. I have a tiny mystery wrasse but no other predatory fish.

Ended up feeding him to my carpet nem. Depressing start to my day.

No. Have 2 small Harlequin shrimp that I've had for almost as long as the cleaner and they are smaller and slower. If I had a critter that killed the cleaner, I would have expected them to go long before him.
