Low PH

Hey guys,

My PH has been running from 7.85 in the AM to 8.05 at night right before the lights go off. I've been reading up on the subject and saw where if I ran outside air directly to my skimmer that it may come up a bit due to reduced C02 levels in the outside air. Well, after doing that I didn't notice much of a difference so I'm looking for other suggestions.

I don't want to use a buffer because my alkalinity runs on the high end anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but since my PH change was minimal after I piped in fresh, outside air, I don't "think" I have a C02 issue. So, that being said, should I eliminate the idea of building a C02 scrubber and go a different direction or have some of you more experienced guys noticed a big difference after using a scrubber?

Imo 7.8-8.0 is fine, I'll bet if you lighten up your bio-load it will probably go up also.

Any chance the tank is in a basement with closed doors?

My main tank is in my living room. My sump is in my basement. That's why I initially thought that it may be a C02 issue but my PH didn't come up much after pumping outside air to my skimmer.

My bio load is light. Its a 150 with a 75 gal sump. 1 flame angel, 2 clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 blue hippo, 1 mandarin, 1 bluespot jawfish, 2 benghaii's, 3 anthias. All are sub-adult.
