Making your own food

When I buy raw shrimp I freeze a couple pieces individually. Once they're frozen they can be chopped up in whatever size you like down to very fine shavings for occasional feeding. I've done the same with squid and raw fish.

I know you're up in the sicks Eric. But if you can find a store called Assi or Super H you can get fresh squid, clams, shrimp, octopus, fish... you name it.
Then follow the BRS guide. I also like to freeze pieces of all that and run it frozen through the chop setting on a food processor, checking frequently to be sure it doesn't get chopped up too small.

I was thinking more along the lines of fresh from the water ...not the market . That's how we do it in the " sticks " ;)

I make my own. I catch the seafood fresh in the sea and then I add other stuff that I buy from BRS. My fish and coral love it more than any other food I have ever fed them.

I have an endless supply of fresh herring amongst other things. Thanks for the info. I'll look into it.
