Mangrove pods

I found some at the beach while I was recently on vacation.

Will there be any harm in floating them in my tank?
Can anyone help me ID them?

I would suspect red mangroves. Just keep in mind that most mangroves grow in a lower salinity level then we maintain in our refugiums. I had to acclimate mine over the course of several months to get them acclimated to my 1.026 salinity level.
