has anyone ever used a tile to make there baffles in there sump. i have somee 18 icnh red terracotta w/glaze will it work for baffles:huh:

No the sealer that was used is a eurethane base and will break down in time, although porous the clay will begin to break down as well. Within a year it will crumble.

ok so a plain porciline should work i got them to lol.just asking the glass i had cant be cut or it shatters. and my acrilic is not strong enough lol.

Double or triple the thickness of the acrylic you have...... just a thought

I had a local glass shop cut me glass for my baffles. They were reasonable.

Nothing wrong with porcialin but doubling up thin glass or acrylic will be fine, you will find that your only baffle with any pressure on it is the last one before the pump. The pressure is somewhat equal on the others.

$10-15 at most. Too bad you are not close, you could cut a few out of scrap glass I have laying around.
