Marineland drain question

Ugh! So while draining the tank after a leak test of the plumbing the little hose on the back of the drain pipe snapped off (I think it was already on the verge of breaking off when we got it). I understand the importance of the hole, but I was wondering how important is the tubing and if there is an easy fix for it.

I just set up a new Marineland and removed both of these. I wanted a little more air to enter the drain pipe. I wouldn't worry about it.

You might want to remove it completely. Looks like it is crushed and partially blocking the hole. Just push it through with a small screwdriver or same size drill bit. If you feel you must replace it, then you'll need to find the right sized tube to push back into hole.

Thanks for the advice. It seems to be glued on pretty well, but we managed to remove enough bits of tubing that the hole is pretty open now.

I concur, wouldn't worry about it. Many folks end up enlarging the hole a bit to ventilate more, and lessen the "gurgling" sound.
