My maroon keeps fanning the sandbed with its tail and causing the sand to land on all my corals that are on the sand bed. Is this a normal behavior for a gold band maroon to disturb the sand bed like this?

my large female maroon flashes the sand a few times an hour at least....its annoying. some say it means they are clearing a spot for eggs. she lays regularly but never where the she flashes..always on the rock with her nem on it.

Personally - I would lose the clown or move the corals

Yep, normal female behavior. Can be troublesome if the sand is irritating the corals. If you can move corals away from her trajectory, that will work, otherwise it might be time to remove the clown.

Some one had to say it.
My cinnamon Female clown does it as well.

My F. Perc female does burnouts as well. Had to move some corals to keep them from getting buried.

This maroon was given to me by petrasb, and I'm looking to find a male for it, which remoney got one available. I like the way the maroons look, but not this kind of behavior, which I wasn't aware of until now. I moved my corals away from it and the corals seem doing ok. now I have to find a way to introduce the male (once I get him) and get them to pair up, which will be very tough.
