maroon clownfish

my maroon clown fish has been scrathing in the sand for about five months now and ive always thought he had ick but now im starting to think it is is something else. every once in a while he gets these these big white flakes on his side that look like dead scales. and just today he got a deep wound on his side but that might just be from another fish. does anybody know what he it has?

Usually about 6 months in the home aquarium.

yeah but the damsels dont mess with him. i only have one clownfish and ive had it for 6 years. hes been ithching for like five months. ive been doing lots of water changes and using a uv sterilizer and i gave him a three minute freshwater bath and he is still scratching.

You might check to see what he is hosting/always near... I had one host a bubble coral, he turned white and looked pretty bad for a few months until I finally
got him to leave the bubble coral alone.
