I was wondering if anybody had any experience with these, are they worth it?

I used one very similar. Mine had a sensor that would detect the fluid dripping through it and stop and sound an alarm if the dripping stopped. Unfortunately, it would falsely detect that no fluid was flowing and stop all the time. As long as the drip detector has been disabled (which it looks like it has based on the tubing he is using), they are workhorse dosers. The tubing that is wrapped around the wheel does not last forever. I bought bulk neoprene (or some other substance) tubing from somewhere that I used to replace it, much cheaper than buying replacement tubing sets.

On a separate note, I used mine for topoff. I tuned it to match the evaporation rate on my 90 years ago. It was amaizing to see that my 90 evaporated about 3 drops per second. You wouldn't think it was that much water...
