and make sure she did't have you down to pick up at a meeting

All the retailers I have been to accepted a print out of my pay-pal receipt while I waited for my card.

I haven't been to all but most of them don't mind looking up my account on ARC and accepting that. I didn't know to save my PayPal reciept so...... LOL

If a retailer refused to honor it for me it would show me they don't really care about my bus. and therefore I would take it elsewher.

Guys Please understand the Club is trying to fix this. Dont jump down Stacys neck. The old card maker is no longer doing it and the club just approved to make its own cards.

Most if not all LFS should take either a Paypal Receipt or Show them your ARC Name

Absolutely agree with this. Not blaming Stacy in any way, shape or form. Sometimes people forget that the BoD and Mods are doing this out of the goodness of there heart. Hard for me to demand when they are trying to help me. :-)

Several sponsors cheerfully accepted by membership by viewing ARC while I was in the store. I also had my expired card on me, but they didn't ask for it.

This is good to hear about them looking you up online as I cannot find my card as I did the 5yr membership and still have 2 yrs left.

Thats not fair. Do you now how many people tell me theyre members, and just dont have a card. so, I look them up, and they are users, not members? Some arent even on the forum, they just lie to try to get a discount. There is NOTHING wrong with asking for proof of membership. Giving a discount off retail has nothing to do with wanting business or not.

I paid over a year ago and renewed and after multiple emails and inquiries I just gave up :(

One of the stores I mentioned that did me right happened to be your store. Yes I know lots of people try to take advantage but when you hire good people (and apparently you did) they go the extra mile for the costumer. I don't think anyone is blaming you or any other LFS. All I am saying is if we can't get cards but can provide proof of membership a good vendor should accept that. JMHO.

What is wrong with saying, "I am sorry, I would like to extend the discount to you, ARC's website does show that you have made posts, but does not show you as a paid member."? No one can control how the would-be patron will react - but that sounds like a civil and sensitive response.

I am not saying retailers should relax the rules or make acceptions (and I have not met a sponsor that didn't want my buisiness and gave me tons of free advice with no indication of my intentions to buy - they have all been super!). However, there are ways to make things "more fair" if we all want to - I am not saying that anyone has been unfair or dishonest .

BTW, the good people of ARC (Board, Support Staff, etc), even offered to look for my PayPal reciept. I declined this generous offer because, at 48 years old, I should have exercised the forethought to save it (I think PayPal keeps them anyway). I understand that not all have paid for their membership using PP. This is is just my simple opinion. Shortly, I will unsubscribe from this thread to avoid any death threats LOL :-).

Hopefully God will reward me for attending my Bible study, in lieu of watching the Giant game. Have a good one folks!

Best,

Tony

I misunderstood. If you can provide other proof of membership, it should be honored. I thought you indicated that other proof was requested, and THAT'S why you took business elsewhere.

I know WE understand that actual physical membership cards are problematic. So long as we can verify in one way, shape, or form that people are CURRENTLY members, we honor the discount.

If you log into paypal and select history there is a basic and advance search. Either will work fine for finding your receipt. Just look up the date range you believe you paid.

Though I haven't had to yet, I'm always ready to pull up my homepage of ARC on my smartphone. If it does happen I hope this will suffice as proof.:Banane37:
If not, I don't mind being looked up.

2 stores refused my discount when I was banned... They asked me to log in, instead of asking what my SN was.

Nope, you guys are one of the ones who bend over backwards to help. Especially when a dumb noobe like me asks stupid questions. LOL So far, the bigger problem for me is remembering to ask for the discount. Just the other day I made a purchase from Rit and was half way home when I remembered. Of course, on a $15 purchase it isn't like I gave away my kids education or anything. :-)
