We have added a feature called @Mentions. This feature allows you to mention a member and they will be alerted (on the notification bar) and sent an email that they were mentioned in a post. It also creates a link to that members profile.
If you are mentioning a member who has a space in their user name use a dash between the two names used. Here are a couple examples.
