Metal Halide Light Schedule and Height

Metal Halide owners of ARC, what is your current light schedule and how high above the water do you have your lights?

I have seen 4hrs to 12 hrs and 5" to 14" above the water.

I am using a 250w metal halide for my frag tank and I am finding all kinds of answers. I am currently running the light for 8 hrs. It is 14" above the water and the frags are 4" below the water. Mostly sps, a few zoas, and nems of course!

Am I doing anything wrong? What are signs something is wrong?

I'm having heat issues now. I can't remember exactly how high but I think 16" have to double check, 400w

I have 2 times 400 10 inches over water line. 10 hours and Led stay on 2 hours after for visual (12 hours total LED)

sps all different levels.

no heat issues, no chiller. I use a high speed PC fan.

I have two 150w 8" up and an led strip for added effect. LED on for on for ten hours, halides for 6. No fans or chiller. No heat issues.
