MH Question

I have a some 250W 14k Phoenix bulbs on my 180 gal and the ballasts that are running them are some cheapo no name brand. The ballasts do light up the lights but they do not seem to be as bright as some other 14k lights. I'm curious if I swap out the ballasts with something like IceCap ballasts would the lights be brighter or is that just the nature the 14k Phoenix bulbs?

It's important to match the right bulb with the right ballast. I suggest reading Sanjay Joshi's testing on various MH bulbs with various ballasts:

Thanks...i will read the article and gain some knowledge in the process. This hobby is all about learning. I always thought that if the ballast could light up the lamp then all would be good. But obviously I was wrong...AGAIN! But this is not the first time and definitely will not be the last. Thanks again for link.
