Let's not forget a good rule of thumb for when you have a missing fish...

...check your overflows!

I got a goby a few weeks ago and the little guy disappeared the next day after putting it in... I figured it didn't make it and chalked him up as an acclimation loss. Well I was doing a quick overlook of the entire system and decided to check the durso strainers in my overflow and low and behold... my goby!!!
So don't forget to check your overflow chambers anytime you have someone missing!

I had a Snowflake Eel and it absolutely loved to swim on the floor until he died one night on the floor. :(

I have a jawfish and a green clown goby and a sexy shrimp that love the HOB overflow box. I finally got sick of getting them out that I have let them live in there for up to two weeks at a time. Pleanty of pods and mysis back there so they were as happy as could be! I make it a habit to check the overflows once a week now.

I have thought about it... It is a pain in the butt to get them out. If he does it again, he is going to stay there a LONG time as punishment.
