I currently have a Blue Coral Banded shrimp in my BC14. I am thinking about trying to get at least 1 other small shrimp for the tank and wanted to get opionions on if I should or not and if so what type of shrimp?

I know that I can't add another Coral Banded Shrimp because they typically kill each other in small tanks.

Thanks.

It depends on how big your coral banded is. I have a red coral banded the eats my hermit crabs right out of their shells.

The blue coral banded stays small(1/2-3/4 inch) and mine is extra small right now at around 1/4 inch. That is why I got him because of how small both the blue and gold CBS are suppose to stay.

I've had luck keeping one with a Periclimenes Yucatanicus (but the periclimenes is hosted by a rock nem) and a peppermint shrimp. However, the PS is always in the open because the cb takes the best hiding spot.

Thanks.

I had been hoping to try to put a goby/shrimp pair in the tank, but Now I think I will just go with a clown goby instead of a sand sifting type.

How attached are you to the coral banded? They are pure opportunist and will try to eat anything they can catch... Small fish included.

Not really attached, but there is no way I am going to get him. He lives on the backside of my base rock and never comes out.

try a piece of krill on a bamboo skewer. Mine comes out for the treat everytime.
