For those running multiple sets of the MM LEDs, are you running individual power cables to every color/unit, or did you buy/rig up some kind of a jumper to wire power together and reduce outlets?

I have two units and use all 4 plugs. I turn my blues on at different times then whites

hmmm... interesting concept, but i havent seen/heard of anyone jumping them together like that. you could still control individual colors, just jump all the whites together and all the blue together. i like it, subscribing...

i.e. something like this:

I suppose I could either hack a cord and wire it together (blues on one whites on the other), or use a small 3 port power strip (love Ikea) to save outlets on my EB8's.

I am using 4 outlets and both variable speed ports on my apex. Hoping to program a sunrise sunset across the tank in the future. Need to find a way to neatly wire into the cat-5 from the apex too. Don't like the dimmer pig tails.

This is what I did and it works great

I have three power strips in my canopy. One is hot all the time and has two timers plugged into it as well as my power heads. One time feeds the second power strip which feeds the blues on my three fixtures. The other timer feeds the third power strip that has the whites for my three fixtures. I also plunged the power power supply for the dimmer I built into the strip supplying my blues. No since leaving it powered when all the lights are off via the timers.

The way I have mine hooked up. I have 12/3 SO cord coming from 2 timers to 2 receptacles in a duplex RS cover mounted on a 1900 box inside of the cabinet. 2 cords with yellow tie wrap controls the whites and the ones with the red tie wrap controls the blues. I also came off the blue receptacle to power two fans that are controlled by a thermostat.

Good feedback. I think that ultimately I'm going to have to eat up 2 EB8 ports to control the sunrise/sunset and get them shut off for moonlights, so I may go the cheap ikea route.
