So I have noticed for quite a while now that the 3 UV bulbs in my MM led fixture did not appear to actually be emitting any light. I had read that the UV lights were faint and hard to see but upon further inspection the bulbs are brown and burnt looking. Optimum has similar fixtures on their tanks and I can clearly see the UV bulbs working.

Do I have any options to have these fixed? Is it really a big deal if they do not work? I still seem to get pretty good growth from corals.

Options? Dunno.

As for worrying about it, I wouldn't. As you said, coral still grow well without them. Maybe not as well as they could, but thats several other threads in, and of, itself.

UV chips need to run around ~700nm so when they are on the same driver as blues and whites they are usually ran with too much power hence them burning out. I really think that unless you turn down the power replacing them would end up giving you the same result

+1 They are more for looks than anything.
