Monti bleaching

I have a about 10 different montis but recently I picked up a beautiful huge sunset monti from Matt (MvM) - it has been doing well for 2 weeks now, until 2 days ago. It has developed a few spots which are bleaching fairly fast. I have read that alk, and mg being low can cause this, the rock was under MH and is now under LEDs perhaps its that. On the same rock is a setosa and some sort of green confusa monti.
Bleaching is on the underside - by the way
I tested MG i was at about 1050, Alk just under 3.0.
Sal. 1.025
Temp 78-79.5~
Flow: 2 MP10wES

Mag should be around 1350. The other thing may check is flow. I have one that is at the end of my tank. It started bleaching and I was told to increase flow to that area. It is now doing very well.

It is very close to an MP10, but the polyps don't move a whole lot even though they are FULLY extended. I will try that, can you recommend a good MG product? I was just going to go with a seachem magnesium supplement unless someone has a better idea

Edit: Also, have you heard of MG being low causing bleaching?

I can't say if the mag is the cause or not but low mag will make it very hard to keep other things in check. The Seachem product should be good. I use BRS and have done the home made route using Epsom Salt. Both seem to do fine.

alk is a little low, but depending upon what you are using to suppliment it with, and test kit you are using, it could be lower than you think.....raise mag first (100 per day), than alk...

It's possible that the led lights are too bright. Is it bleaching or STN?

It was under a 400 w radium with t5 supplementation but LEDs can burn because of the direct spotlighting.

Honestly, I've always had a hard time telling the difference. The only way i usually notice is if it browns out first then i assume bleaching. However, this did not brown out - but I assume its not lights because its on the under sides.

I'm going through the same thing with my pink lemonade acro. It started bleaching around the base and worked its way up - quickly. Its almost all beached out and happened over the course of one day/night.

Only thing low was my alk - it was around 3.5
Mag - 1400
Ca - 480
Temp - 76.5
ph - 8.15
Sal - 1.024

I'm going to frag the remaining parts that are still alive to see if it will stop bleaching.

what flow settings do you use with your MP10s? and what %?

I would also ask mvm what his alk/mag levels are. Urs seem low but if his are too then u can rule that out and look towards placement, flow ot lighting. Not saying u shouldnt dose, just saying u need to ffind out what its used to. Then dose afterwards. I use the fussion part 1/2 for alk and cal then i use the mag sup also

MP10s are at about 75% and placed up and to the front of the rock about 5 inches away. they are on the lagoon mode

I pulled the bleaching coral along with a few of my other LPS corals and did a coral dip. I want to make sure I don't have some parasites that's causing this.

Right now I'm trying to determine if my problem is one of a few things:

<ul>
<li>Tank parameters</li>
<li>Parasites</li>
<li>Hermit crabs - I've a few of them on my BOP coral. Each time I see one, its down to the refug they go.</li>
<li>Fish - Haven't seen any of the fish nip at my corals, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors...</li>
</ul>

Yeah, I did a water change when I noticed it going south...

Well, I do WCs every friday (7g on a 65g system) but i am adding the dip since I am already taking out a bucket o' water
