More Problems with Acros

So I have noticed that my Acros are still not doing so hot... I looked very closely at one of the ones that seems to be RTNing and saw that there were these small white stringy things coming in and out of the polyp location... Like some type of worm or something that is sticking out a fan type thing to catch some food or whatever. What the heck is it? I think something has burrowed inside the acro or maybe several of them. Can I get rid of it somehow? I have given the acro an iodine bath and removed a crab from it, but I don't know what else to do to save it. It is a nice mini colony of acro....

Not sure what's wrong with them pictures may help if you have any.

With regards to the crab, are you sure it wasn't an acro crab? IME my colonies with acro crabs seems to be healthier and fuller than the ones without. From what I've read and heard the acro crabs will help keep pests and fish from nipping/infecting the colony.

Here are some bad pictures...

Here are the readings I got 4 days ago...

Calcium 375
Mag 1350
Alk 9.9
pH 8.0
Nitrate 0
Salt 1.026

What's the phosphate at? The coral looks like it's browning up and my guess is phos

I will check the phosphate tonight. The other thing is that especially my Millies are suffering. they are in different parts of the tank and they are frags and full grown colonies and they all have receded with their hairy polyps. I don't get it. I will test for phosphate tonight... What else should I check for?

Edit: I have done a few kalkawasser drips lately too... But my calcium is ok... Maybe I should stop?

If your phosphate ia higher than .25 u found the problem. How stable is ur temp as well. Any abnormal spikes ( since it's summer) around the time this started to happened?

Edit: Are u dripping it near ur reactor ? Cause kalk plus co2 equals bad stuff lol

Temp is fine. I have a chiller. Dont have a ca reactor yet. I haven't set it up.

Ok... I just tested again: Here are the parameters...

SG: 1.027
pH: 8.1
Mag: 1380
Alk: 8.9
Calcium: 375
Phosphate: 0

Here is the thing though: do you see the white little stringy things that are coming out of the polyp areas? What are those things? I have not been able to find something similar online. I think they're bad. But I don't know what I should do... help please...

Nitrate? And phosphates are measured below .028 or so...for sp's...you'll need a low range phosphate kit like DD Merck, Elos, color meter....and a low range nitrate kit like Elos, Salifert, Tropic Marin...

I have an elos phosphate test.. Never really gotten a read on it to be honest. It doesn't say if it is a low range test. but it is an elos. all my other tests are salifert. My nitrates are always super low so I didn't do that test. Do you know what those white stringy things are that are coming out of the polyp location? like in the left side of the pictures?

Maybe this works...

Edit: i need a good camera

I think I found a picture online that says those stringy things are featherdusters that burrow inside the acro. But apparently they aren't supposed to be harmful. Whatever. I even thought it was my salt that I had just started making. Aquavitro Salinity. But the parameter are fine. Who knows.
